Hi, I’m Sophie, the maker behind The Knotty Unicorn.

I run this little craft shop as a one woman show with a lot of heart, a bit of chaos, and plenty of help from family and friends when things get wild.

Crafting has always called to me. It’s calming, creative, and deeply satisfying, but it’s also surprisingly hard to get into. Supplies are scattered across big stores (if they carry them at all), often sold in huge quantities you don’t need, and beginners are left wondering where to even start.

I built The Knotty Unicorn to help change that.

Here, you’ll find carefully curated kits and supplies designed to make crafting easier and more accessible. Whether you’re an experienced stitcher or someone who just wants to try something fun without buying a 100 skeins of randomly colored floss or a bag of 300 cross stitch needles, I am here for you. I want to take the pressure off and bring the joy of crafting back with kits that are complete, thoughtful, and waste-conscious.

My first love was cross-stitch, but the shop is growing fast. You’ll soon see more embroidery, punch needle, pipe cleaner kits, custom gifts, and all kinds of materials for fiber arts and beyond. I’m still at the beginning of this journey, but I believe in where it’s going. Every kit I pack, every product I list, and every new idea I dream up is driven by the vision, to make crafting feel possible, joyful, and a little magical.
